The GEP inaugurated the Green & Smart Building Park Platform
The Green Energy Park organized on February 24th, the Inauguration Ceremony of the "Green & Smart Building Park" Platform, in Benguerir, Morocco. This research facility, funded by the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), the Research Institute for Solar Energy and New Energies (IRESEN), and the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), is a platform for testing, training and innovation, dedicated to Research and Development (R&D) in the areas of Green Buildings, Energy Efficiency, Smart Grids and Sustainable Mobility.
This infrastructure aims to contribute to the development of the Moroccan and African sustainable city of the future through the valorization of low-carbon construction materials, the integration of renewable energy, and the digitalization of the buildings and electrical grids. It aims to encourage applied research, innovation, and incubation by relying on the Kingdom’s human capital through the mutualization of research infrastructures and the federation of various institutions and local actors’ efforts in the sectors of construction and electrical grids (research centers, universities, development agencies, large companies, and SMEs, etc.).
