Launch of UM6P Canada: Strengthening Ties Between Africa and North America

University Mohammed VI Polytechnic launched its new branch, UM6P Canada, in Montreal. This expansion aims to create a globally connected research environment and encourage collaborations that will accelerate capacity building and knowledge transfers between both sides of the Atlantic.

The event was marked by the attendance of over 140 guests, including Her Excellency Mrs. Souriya Otmani, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Canada, and Mrs. Pascale Déry, Québec's Minister of Higher Education.

By capitalizing on strong partnerships with Canadian universities such as UQAM, Laval University, the University of Sherbrooke, the University of Alberta, and the University of Manitoba, UM6P Canada will foster cross-continental benefits through research, development, executive education, and entrepreneurship.

As a platform for networking and collaboration, "UM6P Canada" will actively contribute to North America’s innovation ecosystem by supporting advancements in agriculture, energy, mining, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development. The branch will promote knowledge exchange, technology transfer, and skills enhancement, aiming to create impactful outcomes such as commercial agreements, patents, and new ventures, while building bridges between academic institutions, industry stakeholders, and strategic partners.
