Researchers and policymakers gathered in Rabat to connect science and decision-making
On the 25th of June, University Mohammed VI Polytechnic and the Morocco Innovation and Evaluation Lab held a conference at UM6P Campus in Rabat on evidence-based approaches to climate, education, and employment policy.
The event gathered policymakers, researchers, and development leaders and opened with remarks from President Hicham El Habti, alongside representatives from Community Jameel, Harvard University, and the Institut Polytechnique de Paris. The event was also marked by the presence of Mr. Mohamed Saad Berrada, Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, who underlined the importance of using data to guide educational reform.
Nobel Laureate Esther Duflo delivered the keynote, calling for practical, research-based tools to support climate adaptation. Sectoral panels showcased MEL-supported projects in agriculture, education, and labor markets, reinforcing UM6P’s commitment to policy-relevant research.
