SATVA training explored satellite data applications for air quality in Africa
From 14th to 18th April, the African Research Center on Air Quality and Climate organized a training program on Satellite Atmospheric Data Validation and Application for Africa (SATVA) at UM6P Campus in Benguerir.
The program was held in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA), Clean Air Task Force (CATF), the International Methane Emissions Observatory (UNEP-IMEO), and the EO Africa Facility.
Participants explored topics including satellite remote sensing, atmospheric composition, and methane emissions in Africa. The program featured demonstrations of low-cost sensors and a UV-Vis spectrometer, as well as discussions on urbanization, economic development, and barriers to satellite data application.
