UM6P engaged in National Program to Support Research, Development, and Innovation
On the 7th of April, the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation (MESRSI), the OCP Foundation, the National Center for Scientific and Technical Research (CNRST), and University Mohammed VI Polytechnic launched the National Program to Support Research, Development, and Innovation (PNARDI) at UM6P Campus in Benguerir.
The program was announced during a ceremony marking the signing of a framework agreement between Mr. Azzedine El Midaoui, Minister of Higher Education, and Mr. Mostafa Terrab, Chairman and CEO of OCP Group. PNARDI aligns with the Royal High Directives calling for research and innovation to serve as pillars of sustainable development and to enhance the involvement of Moroccan expertise, including talents abroad.
A joint fund of 1 billion dirhams has been mobilized for the 2025–2028 period, including 200 million dirhams dedicated to engaging Moroccan researchers living abroad. UM6P will contribute to the implementation of the program through its research infrastructure, living labs, and international academic partnerships.
PNARDI is structured around three complementary sub-programs: Ibn Battouta, dedicated to supporting young researchers; Ibn Albanna, focused on strategic research themes with strong innovation potential; and Nefzaouia, aimed at strengthening technology transfer and linking research outcomes to economic needs..
