UM6P Explorer closes its second cohort with a virtual showcase
UM6P Explorer organized on Wednesday 31 March 2021 a virtual demo day in partnership with the MIT Sandbox Innovation Fund. This event was an opportunity to unveil and showcase a number of the entrepreneurial projects that were supported during this 2nd cohort of the program.
Following a plenary session, “Live Team Tables" were opened to allow the program’s entrepreneurs to interact with the public and present their projects. The holders of these projects come from a variety of institutions including UM6P, 1337, YouCode, Alakhawayn University, Mohammed V University, The Green Energy Park, Cadi Ayad University, Mascir and Hassan II University.
Below are the 22 entrepreneurial projects that took part to the showcase and their elevator pitches.
- Amendy Foods offers natural products based on quinoa, a highly nutritious seed with several health benefits.
- Atlas Trip is a mobile application that provides novice backpackers with help during their camping trips and helps reduce the risks associated with treks in Morocco.
- Blaaan Go is a platform offering tips for outings with family or friends
- Corpo one is an innovative property management platform fostering transparency, expertise, trust and cost effectiveness.
- Gudcy is a platform that offers a comprehensive e-commerce solution to celebrities.
- Dadupa is an online community that provides young entrepreneurs in developing countries with access to business angels and quality mentorship.
- Datapatchwork is an African data labelling company providing people in rural areas with access to digital jobs.
- E-takchita is an online store for accessible second-hand kaftans, luxury accessories and fine crafts.
- Fouling cleaner develops an IoT solution that cleans heat exchangers without production shutdowns.
- Glutect is a startup developing a tool that detects gluten molecules in food using infrared rays.
- GoSmart is developing a device that allows users to manage their homes remotely while they are away.
- Iris vision is developing a software that collects and processes the data included in images and videos using AI.
- ITmed Maroc is a startup initiative providing digital solutions to the problems encountered in hospital flow management.
- MasterLab will offer online courses by a renowned group of local instructors. Inspirational, memorable and effective, these entertaining masterclasses aim to enhance the creativity and performance of learners.
- Mecanov a startup initiative that aims to develop new transportation means for the cities of tomorrow.
- MoNaCo manufactures sustainable bioproducts from Moroccan agricultural and industrial biomass waste for applications in construction, agriculture, packaging, automotive and aeronautics industries.
- MyMoringa aims to create a variety of products using Moringa to tackle the problem of malnutrition and to revolutionize the food industry value chain through sustainable consumption.
- Plant fibers of Morocco is an initiative aimed at producing, marketing and developing fibers and other functional and high added value materials from Moroccan plants.
- Repa-BSF is developing an innovative technique that uses insects to transform household waste into protein-rich fodder.
- Smart Beehive designs and produces smart connected beehives using a network of wireless sensors.
- SOS L&S is a platform providing entrepreneurs with cost-effective professional services in accounting, e-commerce, finance, legal, marketing as well as a virtual management controller to help them succeed in their entrepreneurial journey.
- Spotter is developing a platform that helps companies avoid the cash flow problems related to check collections.
UM6P Explorer is an innovation program created to provide access to entrepreneurial education, mentoring, and potential funding opportunities to aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators. In collaboration with the MIT Sandbox Innovation Fund, students, researchers and staff members of the UM6P community have access to a broad network of world renowned partners and experts that provide unique, practical and entrepreneurial educational experiences designed to foster innovation and growth.
UM6P Explorer's pedagogy is based on learning by doing. In addition to training and mentioning, the program provides entrepreneurs with funding ranging from Dh10,000 to Dh250,000 to help them develop their prototypes and find their first customers.
