UM6P presented its approach to academic collaboration in Africa
On the 15th of April, Mr. Khalid Baddou, Chief of Staff and Director of Institutional Affairs at University Mohammed VI Polytechnic, took part in a panel hosted by Casablanca Finance City during the presentation of the report “Africa’s Development Dynamics 2024: Skills, Jobs & Productivity,” co-produced by the African Union Commission and the OECD Development Centre.
He highlighted the need to rethink the African university model as a key driver of economic, technological, and social development, and stressed the importance of building technological sovereignty through critical skills in data, artificial intelligence, and green technologies. He also presented UM6P’s approach to continental cooperation, citing the Excellence in Africa initiative with EPFL as a model for collaborative doctoral training in strategic fields such as water, energy, and health.
