Ihsane Kassem, the first PhD student to graduate from UM6P CEDoc
Ihsane Kassem, PhD student at Materials Science, Energy and Nanoengineering Department, defended her doctoral thesis on Tuesday, March 14th, 2023, at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University. Ihsane has the privilege of being the first ever PhD student graduated from UM6P-CEDoc. She worked on a multidisciplinary project entitled « Cellulose based biodegradable and waterborne coating formulations for slow-release fertilizers with enhanced nutrients use and agronomic efficiencies », under the supervision of Pr. Mounir El Achaby and Dr. El-Houssaine Ablouh within Polymers & Composites Team.
Through this relevant project, Dr. Ihsane and the team could develop advanced category of fertilizers produced by coating technology at lab scale using eco-friendly materials. The objective of designing such new fertilizers is to bring environmental, agronomic, and social benefits over the traditional fertilizers for sustainable agriculture practices.
