ACT School engaged communities with creative events in Youssoufia and El Jadida
This week, ACT School youth organized cultural activities beyond their centers: a theater play in Youssoufia and a slam poetry workshop in El Jadida.
In Youssoufia, the play Invisible Borders, performed by ACT School alumni at the old church of ACT School, explored themes from Fatima Mernissi’s literature, including parent-child relationships and women’s lives in harems. The event was attended by over 120 people, celebrating Mernissi’s legacy.
In El Jadida, a slam poetry workshop and open mic were held at the El Kadiri Cultural Complex. Led by youth, the workshop focused on poetic tools such as metaphors and rhythm, culminating in a creative open mic session.
