In the current dynamic global landscape, Africa is confronted with pressing issues, that require immediate action. African Young Leaders Program offers young leaders a distinct opportunity to address these urgent concerns and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the continent.

With the success of its launch of the in October 2023, we are excited to expand our core group of 20 exceptional young leaders. The participants will join a high impact bootcamp scheduled at UM6P's Benguerir Campus in December. This bootcamp will be an exceptional opportunity, to co-construct our strategy and refine our theory of change !

By connecting to UM6P’s scientific knowledge, expertise and network, this is your opportunity to develop your leadership skills and scientific methods that help drive change across the continent, and build leadership driven by science.

This network is also your opportunity to bring your initiatives to fruition, to contribute to Africa's future, and participate in shaping a brighter, more prosperous continent for generations to come.

The selected leaders will also have the opportunity to discover the African cultural and creative industries, and take part in a series of inspiring conferences.

Eligibility:

Applicants for the African Young Leaders Program 2024 will undergo a highly competitive application process. To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be aged between 25 and 40 at the time of application.
  • Possess African nationality (residing in Africa or within the diaspora).
  • Demonstrate an interest in and/or dedication to African issues.
  • Display exceptional leadership within their respective fields and a strong aspiration to contribute substantially to Africa's advancement.

 

The jury assesses candidates based on factors such as:

  • Past leadership experience.
  • Potential for attaining the highest echelons of leadership in their profession.
  • Capacity to contribute to the enrichment of Africa and the world.
  • Enthusiasm for program participation.
  • Willingness to engage as an active member of the African Young Leaders community. The African Young Leaders Program also seeks to select individuals with diverse experiences, facilitating the development of relationships within the African diaspora.
