UM6P organized the 1st edition of the Africa Smart City Forum
From the 17th to the 19th of April, University Mohammed VI Polytechnic organized the 1st edition of the Africa Smart City Forum (ASCF-2024) under the theme “Africa Smart City, Vector of sustainable territorial development”, at UM6P Campus in Benguerir.
This Forum represents an experimentation ground (Test & Learn) for Benguerir, the nascent fast-growing green and smart city that fosters UM6P’s innovative Campus. Considering this as a rising urban model, it is indeed a showcase of a new generation of smart cities in Africa. Accordingly, UM6P launched the Africa Smart City Forum, as a vibrant exchange and research platform, for African cities, where smart-human-centered urban solutions are applied to face current urban challenges and reach more resilient and sustainable human establishments and territories.
This 1st edition of the ASCF convened major Moroccan and African players, including experts, researchers, entrepreneurs, and representatives of international institutions, NGOs, and civil society, who were sharing their knowledge and know-how in terms of territorial innovation and design of smart urban models, to boost the performance of infrastructures of African cities.
