Expo 2020 Dubai: UM6P and OCP group organized a conference about « Sustainable Agriculture to feed the African Continent »

Eight years after the adoption of the Malabo declaration, and just three years before the target date of 2025, we could certainly ask the question on where we stand on some of these targets and how much could African countries accelerate the pace towards achieving some of the declaration goals. The COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences on African economies and population livelihoods have made this challenge even more complex, adding to all the chronic problems of climate change, water scarcity, poverty etc.

Last wednesday, the Moroccan Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, organized in partnership with UM6P and OCP group,  a conference about « Sustainable Agriculture to feed the African Continent » as part as the Food, Agriculture & Livelihoods week.

During the conference, the UM6P and OCP panelists tackled some of the main challenges of agri-food systems and sustainable development in Africa through science, research and innovation.

As a hub of knowledge dedicated to research, high-level education and innovation, UM6P aims to support the development of the African continent. Through its strategic alliance with OCP group, many R&D Projects have focused on Soil, Fertilizers, Plants, water etc.., through international partnerships.
