At UM6P, we believe in the transformative power of young African women. The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at UM6P is more than a scholarship - it's a transformational journey. Designed to support talented and driven young women from across Africa, from all backgrounds - urban, rural, young mothers, young women with disabilities, and those from refugee and/or displaced communities - the program provides access to world-class education, empowering leadership development, an entrepreneurial mindset and a lifelong sisterhood of changemakers.
Together thanks to the support of the Mastercard Foundation, UM6P is committed to empower 575 Mastercard Foundation Scholars over the next ten years, shaping a more inclusive, innovative, and prosperous future for Africa, one scholar at a time.
Main objectives of the Program:
The main objectives of the Program are as follows:
▪ Improve inclusive access to quality education for talented young African women
▪ Develop entrepreneurial and innovation skills among the female Scholars
▪ Facilitate transition to the job market to 575 young Scholars
▪ Foster a Pan-African sisterhood through the Alumni network

Comprehensive student support throughout their journey at UM6P, including academic mentoring, mental health services, and personalized coaching to ensure students’ success and well-being

How to Apply
1. Apply to UM6P
Candidates must first go through the UM6P admission process, which includes an online application, and for candidates eligible on academic background, an entrance exam (oral and written) based on academic eligibility.

2. Apply to the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at UM6P
Once admitted to UM6P, eligible students may submit a separate application to be considered for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program.
For our engineering degrees, if you are a promising candidate who didn’t pass the entrance exam, you may be invited to join our “Step Up” bridging program—a fully funded one-year track to prepare you for re-entry.

Do I need identification or official documents to apply?
For refugee or displaced candidates who may lack documentation, UM6P will assess each case individually in collaboration with the relevant national and international authorities. We are committed to doing our best in finding flexible and legal solutions in accordance with Moroccan regulations, and in partnership with AMCI and UNHCR, to ensure that no deserving candidate is excluded due to administrative barriers.
What is the Step Up Program?
Step Up is a one-year preparatory track opportunity for talented applicants who didn’t pass the initial entrance exam for UM6P engineering degrees. It includes:
