Mohammed VI Polytechnic University Hosts the New Augmented and Virtual Reality Center in Morocco in Collaboration with EON Reality and USAID

Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) has hosted today the inauguration ceremony of the first Interactive Digital Center (IDC) in Morocco. This center is the outcome of a solid collaboration between EON Reality, the world leader in Augmented and Virtual Reality-based knowledge and transferred skills for industry and education, and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). With the support of the Moroccan Ministry of Industry,  the Ministry of National Education, the Agency for Digital Development, and Mohammed V University in Rabat. 

The IDC provides unprecedented access to Augmented (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) technology and solutions for Morocco’s growing digital transformation of the academic, industrial, and government sectors.

The seven partners are a perfect representation of the “triple helix” model that centers like this bring to fruition, with government, academia, and industry leaders all coming together to shape Morocco’s technological revolution. 

“With today’s launch of this Interactive Digital Center, we are supporting the Government of Morocco’s ambitious education strategies and igniting the possibilities for youth by providing Moroccan students the technology they need to succeed in the workforce of the future,” stated U.S. Ambassador to Morocco, David T. Fischer. 

The inauguration event showcased the center’s ability to serve as a technological hub for the community. In addition to socializing with the other regional leaders, guests listened to keynote speeches from SPEAKERS NAMES and received a tour with hands-on demonstrations of the technology that will soon be assisting the next generation of Moroccan students, employees, and entrepreneurs.

Speaking at the ceremony, Hicham El Habti, UM6P Secretary General said: “Our University is committed to explore conventional and unconventional education methods that can assist with science and technology to their utmost limits. Today, we are hosting this IDC as part of our portfolio of innovative tools to contribute to the development of educational models in Africa”.
