UM6P researchers joined Synchrotron science leaders in Brazil

Last week, UM6P, through its Global Critical Zone Science Chair, participated in the São Paulo School of Advanced Science on 4th Generation Synchrotron Techniques (Synclight 2024), organized by the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory (LNLS) of the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM) at São Paulo, Brazil

This event brought together 105 young researchers, chosen from a pool of 350 applicants, representing all five regions of Brazil and 21 other countries. This gathering enabled an exchange of knowledge and discussions on various aspects of synchrotron science conducted at Sirius, Brazil’s advanced light source.

Participants, ranging from undergraduate to postdoctoral students, attended lectures, engaged in hands-on tutorials, presented research posters, and toured the Sirius facilities, discovering diverse opportunities to study and analyze a broad array of materials with applications in fields such as physics, chemistry, materials science, nanotechnology, energy, and sustainability.
