UM6P strengthened ties with Japanese universities during IAU conference
From the 22nd to the 24th of November, UM6P participated in the IAU 2024 International Conference held at Sophia University, Tokyo, under the framework of its active membership in the International Association of Universities (IAU). The conference featured a keynote address by UM6P President, Mr. Hicham El Habti.
The IAU, created under UNESCO in 1950, is a global higher education network fostering expertise, advocacy, and peer-to-peer learning. This year's conference welcomed over 300 participants from 50+ countries, focusing on the theme of values guiding universities in navigating complex societal challenges. Mr. El Habti also joined a panel discussion on "Universities and the Interplay between Human Intelligence and Generative AI."
During his visit, Mr. El Habti engaged in discussions with Japanese universities, exploring mutual cooperation and strengthening existing partnerships. A meeting supported by the Moroccan Embassy brought together members of the Moroccan diaspora in Japan to discuss UM6P’s engagement with researchers, students, and professionals. He also met with His Excellency Ambassador Bouhlal to explore avenues for fostering collaboration between Morocco and Japan.
