The Voice of Africa: Great success of UM6P Side Events to the Annual Meetings of WBG and IMF
University Mohammed VI Polytechnic was delighted to hold the UM6P Side Events under the label of "The Voice of Africa", from October 10 to 14, at Benguerir’s Campus, within the framework of the Annual Meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Attracting more than 10,000 registrants, high-level dialogues dived into topics were held this week, bringing 50 speakers from all over the world to discuss the various challenges facing the African continent and putting them at the center of international negotiations.
The Voice of Africa Side Events ended on Saturday, October 14, around the theme of Unleashing Creative Industries, featuring a closing ceremony befitting an outstanding event, attended by the Advisor to His Majesty the King, Mr. André Azoulay, the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication Mr. Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Mr. Mostafa Terrab, Chairman and CEO of OCP Group, and the IFC's Managing Director Mr. Makhtar Diop. The day's activities started with Sports Day with the presence of legends of football, NBA basketball, and athletics. This was followed by panel discussions, highlighting the richness of African cultural and creative heritage and the potential of industries to stimulate economic growth and strengthen our cultural identity. The event closed with an Art Performance by "African Women in Jazz".
