On the 24th of January, NBA Africa and University Mohammed VI Polytechnic, through its subsidiary Evosport, announced a collaboration to support youth basketball development in Morocco. This partnership introduces expanded youth basketball programming and establishes UM6P as an official partner of NBA Africa.

From the 18th to the 19th of January, LYDEX Rabat judokas participated in the 2025 Casablanca African Judo Open, competing against athletes from 25 countries across four continents. The team finished 4th in the overall medal rankings, earning 1 gold, 6 silver, and 4 bronze medals.

Notable performances included Malak Lakhal, who won gold in the Juniors category, and Elmejjati Abderrahmane, who secured gold in the Cadets. Several other athletes achieved silver and bronze medals or placed in the top rankings.

On the 23rd of January, University Mohammed VI Polytechnic  welcomed representatives from 10 Canadian universities at UM6P Campus in Benguerir.

The visit focused on exploring potential collaborations in research and innovation across various academic fields. The delegation toured UM6P’s research facilities and engaged with university representatives to discuss ongoing and future projects aimed at advancing scientific discovery and fostering technological progress.

On the 20th of January, the ATLAS initiative, of which University Mohammed VI Polytechnic is a member, brought together, at Davos, global leaders from the public and private sectors to address the $200 billion agricultural funding gap in Africa and discuss sustainable food systems.
