Master of Agribusiness Innovation
The Master of Agribusiness Innovation is an interdisciplinary program specializing in business management, innovation and entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector. It aims to equip students with the knowledge and competencies needed to develop and manage agriculture ventures in Africa.
In addition to providing cutting-edge education and building a strong network of agribusiness innovation leaders, this program is developed in response to the lack of local and regional expertise needed to stimulate and sustain innovative agriculture in Africa.
Students will be empowered to design, finance, and manage businesses to meet the challenges of agriculture in Africa.
At the end of the training, the graduate will be able to :
Understand the interconnectedness of real-world phenomena and apply knowledge from multiple sources to collaboratively explore innovative solutions.
Document the knowledge of the legal and ethical environment impacting agriculture organizations.
Develop professional knowledge and skills, besides the ability to conduct independent investigations and research in both the agricultural and business sectors to make effective and profitable decisions.
Examine how all aspects of agriculture combine and are used by scientists, marketers, and producers.
Evaluate the impact of trade policy, common markets, trading blocks, market instability, commodity problems, legal agreements and environmental regulations on imports, exports, production and decision making in Agriculture.
Practice critical thinking to analyze any sort of problems related to the agribusiness industry by applying relevant concepts and frameworks.
Acquire a global vision of agribusiness markets and quantitative methods for investment decision making and draw appropriate statistical conclusions.
Transfer technology and research into applied field solutions and services.
Demonstrate a responsible leadership mindset, incorporating social, agri-economic and ethical dimensions for an inclusive organization.
In addition to these technical skills, students will also be able to acquire transversal competences in "Soft Skills" (Communication, Teamwork and English) and "Business Skills" (Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Project Management, Agricultural Science, ...) allowing them to interact effectively in their future working environments.
Pr. Rachid DOUKKALI
Prof. Mohammed Rachid Doukkali is Senior Fellow at the Policy Center for the New South and former professor of applied economics at the department of social sciences at the Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine Institute Hassan II (IAV – Hassan II) of Rabat, where he taught production economics, mathematical programming, macroeconomic and sectoral policy modeling since 1981.
He is the actual president of the Moroccan Association of Agricultural Economics (AMAEco) and an associate member of the General Council of Agricultural Development of Morocco. He previously served as Vice Dean and coordinator of the Economic Analysis & Public Policy Masters of the Faculty of Governance and Social Sciences (FGSES) of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P).
Prof. Doukkali additionally performed several consultancies with the Ministry of Agriculture of Morocco, and national and international organizations (World Bank, FAO, UNDP) in Morocco and several Mediterranean and African countries (Syria, Mali, Burkina-Faso, Cameroon).
We implement experiential learning pedagogical philosophy, which places the student at the heart of the learning system. In this philosophy, the mission of the professor is to implement, throughout the course, varied and innovative educational devices, intended to ensure that the student is a progressive, autonomous, and responsible actor in his/her training.
Our pedagogy motivates students to work individually and in groups applying their knowledge and skills in solving real-world problems. Students in Master of Agribusiness Innovation will:

Our faculty members and pedagogy team are highly experienced in research and training in agricultural education, quantitative techniques, and innovative methods. They bring a diverse set of expertise from their experience with leading international organizations and universities.
Some examples of this expertise include Agribusiness, strategy management, Agri-food tech innovation, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

In addition to training students to lead the transformation of African agriculture, the program offers valuable incubation opportunities. It also enables its graduates to become agribusiness analysts, developers, trainers, and entrepreneurs in the field of agribusiness services.
This Masters is open to holders of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, related to Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, Bioscience, Economics, Business, and Management. With also a good command of English.

Eligible applicants will be invited to a written test that is designed with respect to the interdisciplinary nature of the master, to assess the capacity to learn, analytical and logical thinking, language skills, interest in management and agriculture, and entrepreneurial potential. The oral interview will be conducted by the admissions committee in English.
